RUTS DC (GB) "Celebrating 40 years of The Crack" + LOADED (D)
Freitag, 29.11.2019 · 20:00 Uhr

As 2019 marks the 40th anniversary of ‘The Crack’ it’s now time to take a well deserved look back and Ruts DC are proud to announce some very special EU shows to celebrate the albums original release. These shows will not only feature their 'The Crack' masterpiece but also tracks from 'Music Must Destroy', 'Grin & Bear It', 'Animal Now' and maybe even a brand new tune...
“It’s always been important to us to be a current and forward thinking band, releasing and playing new material whilst being proud of our past,” states John ‘Segs’ Jennings. “A milestone to many, The Crack is an important piece of work to us too.
We now feel ready to celebrate where we came from.”
Making ‘The Crack” was a real game changer for me,” continues Dave Ruffy. “The Ruts were a band that were greater than the sum of their parts and wrote music inspired by everything we had ever heard. It’s a piece of work that I am immensely proud to have been a part of. Now forty years on we will be playing the album in its entirety, it’s quite a challenge as some of the songs have not been played since 1980!

Pressure Drop Punk Rock from Mannheim (DE)
For 25 years, the will to make timeless music and share it with people has been the fuel that keeps LOADED on the road. They fuse punk, a touch of ska, and rock’n’roll with their very own explosive blend of songwriting, and the result is the sound of three friends presenting a unified front, trying to find some light amid the darkness. Like their influences The Clash and The Specials, LOADED offers entertainment, conviction, and release- melodies with a message and stories with real characters.
Hailing from the city of Mannheim, the band has spent an impressive amount of time on the road since 1994- racking up more than 600 shows, both as headliner and as support for heavyweights such as Broilers, Dropkick Murphys, Beatsteaks, and Cocksparrer. And while they may not be able to tour as often as they did back in the 90s, their intensity hasn’t cooled in the least.
Over the course of five full-length albums (with a sixth in the works), the band has continuously pursued their desire to raise the bar and create music that will resonate for years to come. Though maturity can be the death sentence for some bands, signaling a retreat from cutting edge rock’n’roll, LOADED continues to make songs that matter. Keeping the frills to a minimum and maintaining a hard-charging, straight-ahead rhythm, they burn their way through an impressive array of moods- from poignant melancholy to defiant exhilaration.
2019 marks the 25th anniversary of their first concert, and with a new album in the works, the band will be hitting the road to celebrate more two-and-a-half decades of pressure drop punk rock. VVK
